What does the term 30x30 mean in relationship to a 30 shot international centerfire pistol match? I figured out 30 shots,
but what does the second 30 mean?

    Many thanks,

    International Centerfire

The International Centerfire League is a 60-shot course consisting of 30 rounds of slow fire and 30 shots of rapid fire.
Slow fire will consist of 3 stings of 10 shots fired in 5 minutes per string. Scoring will take place after every 10 shots.
Rapid fire will consist of 6 strings of 5 shots. When the command to load is given each shooter will assume the ready position with the loaded pistol held at a 45-degree angle from the floor. The targets will face the shooter for 3 seconds, during which the shooter will fire 1 shot. The targets will edge for 7 seconds and then reappear for 3 seconds. The sequence will continue until 5 shots are fired. The shooter must reassume the 45-degree ready position for each shot. A second string will be fired. Scoring will take place after every 10 shots.

International rules require the use of a centerfire pistol. It can be a revolver or semi-auto but it must be no larger than .38 caliber and use lead bullets only. A .357 Magnum may be used, but not with magnum loads.
